Em Ekong BA (hons), MSc.(MinstF)
Institute of Fundraising

Em has worked as a business advisor for a number of agencies over the past 10 years, particularly in regeneration areas such as Lambeth, Southwark, Tower Hamlets and Hackney. She lectured at South Bank University for three years on a Business Start-Ups Programme. In recent years her experience has involved project management for regeneration agencies including setting up and developing a successful regeneration programme “Women’s Enterprise”. Her last key role was as Business Services Manager at a local enterprise agency.

With extensive experience in regeneration her areas of expertise include business start-up including business planning and cashflow projections, business growth strategies, market research, marketing strategies, feasibility studies, social enterprise development, and community capacity building.

Dianne Barham BA(hons), LLB

Dianne spent five years working with Cityside Regeneration Ltd; an East London based Single Regeneration Programme, as a senior project manager followed by two years as the co-ordinator of the Shadwell Local Area Connecting Communities Programme. She has in-depth experience of working with an extremely diverse range of community and voluntary organisations. She has a working knowledge of the full range of funding techniques and sources and has been involved in raising over 10 million pounds worth of funding for large and small scale capital and revenue projects through Europe, trust funds, lottery sources and government agencies.

Emma Taylor BA(hons)

With over ten years of regeneration experience in local authority, private sector and a large housing association, Emma has project managed a variety of capital and revenue projects ranging from £10,000 to £10,000,000.

As European and International Advisor for the London Borough of Tower Hamlets she analysed Government and European policy and advised community and voluntary organisations on securing funding. Emma also worked at mbA Training Research and Development Ltd. in the role of Development Manager, successfully fund-raising and managing a range of pan-London employment and training initiatives. In her last role as General Manager for the Peabody Trust’s SRB Thresholds programme, she established eight community-learning centres across Lambeth, Southwark and Tower Hamlets. This project combined the provision of affordable quality childcare with training and employment opportunities located within housing estates in areas of high deprivation.

Emma’s key areas of expertise include community consultation and feasibility studies, creating and implementing performance monitoring systems, identifying and building effective partnerships and project evaluation.
